LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - As the days before SNAP benefits run out dwindle, businesses in both Louisville and southern Indiana are brainstorming ways they can give back during a tough time.
SNAP benefits will run out at the end of the month amid the ongoing government shutdown, leaving hundreds in both Kentucky and southern Indiana with limited options.
But, businesses like By Golly’s in Clarksville and Local Food Hub and Pizza Pub in Louisville are doing their part to lighten the load for those who need it.
Kyle Varney is the general manager at By Golly’s. He said leadership from all of the restaurant’s locations met to brainstorm how they could help with SNAP benefits ending.
