SEOUL (Reuters) -Samsung Electronics reported on Thursday a 32% rise in third-quarter operating profit, as the booming conventional chip market helped offset a gradual recovery in its artificial intelligence chip sales.

The world’s largest maker of memory chips posted 12.2 trillion won ($8.58 billion) in operating profit for the July to September period.

The result was in line with its estimate of 12.1 trillion won.
