SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – About 46.5% of students in the Sioux Falls School District are on the free and reduced lunch program, according to the latest demographic report.
The school board heard and voted on the 2025-26 demographic report for the district during the October 27 school board meeting.
Community Relations coordinator DeeAnn Konrad presented the report. She said the information is vital to how the school board funds and operates.
Enrollment
Enrollment has dropped off for JK-12 compared to last year. This year, 24,059 students are enrolled in the SFSD, last year that number was 24,189.
“Over the last couple of years, we’ve seen a dip and that puts us about the same as where we were in 2022-23,” Konrad said.
