The Kansas City Chiefs are bringing back an old friend and two-time Super Bowl champion, Mike Pennel, for their latest championship push.

On Wednesday, the Kansas City Chiefs announced that they signed Mike Pennel and waived defensive end Malik Herring. The 34-year-old Pennel appeared in eight games for the Cincinnati Bengals before he was released on Tuesday.

This is now Pennel’s third stint with Andy Reid and the Chiefs. The former CSU Pueblo star played for Kansas City from 2019 to 2020, winning a Super Bowl 55 championship ring with them in his first season there.

Pennel had brief stops with the Chicago Bears and Atlanta Falcons before returning to Kansas City in 2023. He won his second Super Bowl championship that year, helping the Chiefs complete their repeat with a 25-22 overtime
