HARTFORD, Conn. — A jury convicted a Hartford man of murder after a 2022 shooting in the city that left one person dead and another injured.

Along with the murder charge, Benjamin White, 38, was also found guilty of assault in the first degree and criminal possession of a firearm, according to the state Division of Criminal Justice.

On Aug. 11, 2022, Hartford police received a 911 call about a report that two people were shot in the area of Laurel Street.

Simon Griffin, 33, suffered two gunshot wounds to the head and was pronounced dead, the DCJ said, citing evidence presented at the trial. A second victim, a 27-year-old man, suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital.
