JOHNS CREEK, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The Johns Creek High School marching band is officially preparing for a trip across the Atlantic, set to perform in the 2027 London Parade.
“Just the thought of marching in something so much bigger than us is overwhelming but exciting,” said Amelie Roy, the band’s low brass section leader.
An English delegation officially welcomed the band as participants in a ceremony held on Wednesday at the school.
Bob Bone, founder of the London Parade, which is held each year on New Year’s Day, explained the popularity of American marching bands at the event.
“American marching bands are probably the most popular thing in our event,” Bone said.
