North Bay city council has voted to dock Mayor Peter Chirico 60 days pay for inappropriate use of his corproate credit card.

The city's integrity commissioner found that he charged over $17,000 in personal expenses, including on hockey tickets, golf memberships and meals with his family claimed as "city business."

And while Chirico paid the city back and said it was "always understood that they would be reimbursed," the integrity commissioner found that $5,500 of that spending violated the code of conduct.

"The general public can see the emotion that's happening at this table," said city councillor Mark King at Wednesday night's meeting.

"The disappointment I feel that this council has been dragged through this whole scenario is in my mind despicable."
