Changing the clocks twice a year has a disruptive impact on people with insomnia, said a North Bay, Ont., man with the sleep disorder.
Ken Porter works with the Mood Disorders Society of Canada, and said even gaining an extra hour when daylight saving time ends can disrupt his entire week.
“That one hour difference can really make a difference in your ability to be productive,” he said.
Porter said he’s had trouble sleeping as far as he can remember due to his anxiety and insomnia, which he said feed into each other.
