TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - A shoe drive in Tucson is underway to support the homeless community, and organizers are seeking the public's assistance.

Foot Solutions Tucson is collecting gently worn shoes for the Gospel Rescue Mission until July 5.

Daniel Miller, Foot Solutions manager, explained the need for the drive.

"A lot of people out there have one pair of shoes, that's the shoes on their feet and they do get burned through very quickly. What's old to many people is a perfectly great usable shoe to others," Miller said. "We've had about 30 pairs donated so far, we hope to get around 200 in the next few months."

Community members can drop off shoe donations at the Foot Solutions Tucson store, 5480 E. Broadway Blvd., Suite 150, during regular store hours.
