BEAUMONT, Texas — A mail truck got stuck in a large, muddy hole on West Cardinal Drive this week, drawing attention to ongoing road hazards in a busy Beaumont construction zone. The incident happened near Crawford Electric Supply, in the area between the Interstate 10 and Cardinal Drive interchange.
One of the company’s workers shared photos showing the mail truck’s front tire sunk deep into the mud. “We come out and we see the lady in the mail truck with her right front tire deep into the opening,” said Rafael Thomas, a customer service representative at Crawford Electric Supply.
Thomas said the hazardous conditions on West Cardinal Drive have been a persistent problem. “You have gravel here, you have asphalt here, you have dirt. There’s rebar,” he said. “Every day when you make this
