KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Family and friends of Christopher Bartholomew are still searching for answers after the 21-year-old was killed in a drive-by shooting in 2007. He was an innocent bystander.

“Chris’ friend was getting ready to ship out and was in town on leave,” said his mom, Misty Kirwan. “His friend had too much to drink in Westport and called Chris for a ride. Chris went down to get him. They met up but somehow got separated in the closing time crowd.”

She says Chris and another friend went looking for him and were standing on the sidewalk at 39 th and Broadway when people in cars started shooting at each other. Chris was caught in the crossfire. While it’s been over 18 years, Kirwan says it feels like it was yesterday.
