LOS ANGELES, C.A. (WITN) - In a crucial Game 5 to take a lead in the World Series, former ECU pitcher Trey Yesavage led the Toronto Blue Jays to a 6-1 win after seven innings of flawless work on the mound Wednesday Night.
Over the seven innings, he allowed just one run while throwing 12 Ks on three hits.
The performance adds yet another memory to what has been an unbelievable rookie season, where after being drafted in 2024 from ECU, he started this season in single-A ball.
In his last start, Yesavage opened the series for Toronto, where he pitched four innings, allowing two runs in an 11-4 Jays’ Game 1 victory.
Earlier in the playoffs, he set the franchise playoff single-game strikeout record against the Yankees in his first playoff start ever (he broke his own record tonight).
