SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Veterans participating in the final Honor Flight of the Ozarks for this year returned home after visiting Washington, D.C. A crowd gathered at the airport to welcome the veterans home from their trip Wednesday night.
The plane departed Springfield-Branson National Airport on Wednesday morning, carrying 81 veterans and their guardians to visit military memorials and Arlington National Cemetery at no charge.
This flight marked the last of the year, and organizers have not announced next year’s dates. Veterans can still apply for future trips to Washington, D.C., to see their memorials through the Honor Flight of the Ozarks website by clicking here.
