The Cyclone Montha has weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area over east Vidarbha and adjoining south Chhattisgarh at 05:30 am on Thursday, according to the latest alert by the Indian Meterological Department. It is likely to move northwards towards East Madhya Pradesh & adjoining north Chhattisgarh and weaken into a low-pressure area during the next 24 hours.
Under its influence, extremely heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places over Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Sub-Himalayan, West Bengal, Bihar, Sikkim, Saurashtra, and Kutch on October 30 and 31.
