SRINAGAR : Chaotic scenes erupted in the Jammu Kashmir Assembly on Thursday after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) moved an adjournment motion accusing the National Conference (NC) government of large-scale corruption in several departments, including Roads and Buildings (R&B) and the Public Works Department (PWD). BJP legislators demanded that the NC “give its hisaab (account)” for the period from 2014 to 2024, alleging widespread misuse of public funds and administrative irregularities. The Speaker, however, rejected the motion, citing Assembly rules that prohibit reconsideration of a motion already dismissed during the same session.
