Rossie star has called time on a long, prolific career but reveals he has now rushed straight back into another off-field challenge

CiaráIn Murtagh will play a lead role in Movember ‘Ahead of the Game’ a mental health literacy programme.

It was very different when Ciaráin Murtagh started out. The just-retired Roscommon footballer – now embracing a new role with Movember, the men’s health charity – harks back to 2014 when mental health awareness among the inter-county populace was foggy at best.

“We had access to a psychologist, but it was nearly as if you only went to the psychologist if you had a problem,” he says.
