New evidence has been revealed about the extent of Victoria’s crime crisis, with a new report showing Victoria Police is failing to hit key crime related targets.
Performance metrics in Victoria Police’s latest annual report show the state’s police failed to achieve more than half of its performance targets, while some of the targets that were achieved only serve to highlight the extent of the crime increase.
The Allan government tabled the annual report in Parliament on Thursday, along with more than 250 other reports from state government departments and agencies in what the Opposition claims was an attempt to “bury the truth in a mountain of paper”.
According to the annual report, Victoria police failed to achieve 12 of 24 targets across measures of policing and community safety.
