Acacia Ridge Criminal Investigations Branch has successfully extradited a man from Victoria following investigations into a historical grievous bodily harm incident.

It is alleged on 16 August 2008, the now 39-year-old Victorian man physically assaulted a now 38-year-old woman at an Oxley address.

The physical assault allegedly caused permanent significant damage to the woman’s eye.

Police will further allege the pair were in a relationship at the time of the offence.

On 9 April 2022, the victim reported the matter to police.

A protracted investigation and close cooperation between Queensland Police and Victorian Police led to the man being served a summons before Brisbane Magistrates Court for one count of grievous bodily harm on 13 July 2023.
