BOISE, Idaho — Eighty people laid down in Cecil Andrus Park Wednesday evening, each representing a life organizers say will be lost as enhanced Affordable Care Act tax credits expire at the end of the year, and Medicaid changes go into effect.

The event, organized by The Appleseed Project , was designed to pressure Idaho's congressional delegation to continue the subsidies that help tens of thousands of Idahoans afford health insurance.

"The JEC estimates that 68,000 Idahoans are going to be out of health insurance with this bill, and that will result in 80 people dying each year. Idahoans dying each year," said Alice Nelson, project director for the Appleseed Project and one of three grassroots organizers behind the demonstration.
