BIRMINGHAM – For the first time since 2002, the Cherokee County Lady Warriors will play for a state volleyball title.
The Lady Warriors swept their way to the Class 4A title match by sweeping St. Michael’s Catholic and Orange Beach in the state volleyball tournament at the Birmingham CrossPlex on Wednesday. They defeated St. Michael’s in their opener 25-15, 25-10, 25-15, then advanced to the title match with a 25-11, 25-15, 25-11 victory over Orange Beach.
Cherokee County will battle Prattville Christian at 2 p.m. at Bill Harris Arena in the championship match. Prattville Christian also swept its way to the championship on Wednesday by defeating Madison County and Alexandria.
