Parliament is finally scrutinising the mammoth overhaul of environment laws, but minister Murray Watt has already indicated he’s willing to change them to land the best outcomes for industry and nature.
The Environment Minister issued a challenge to the Coalition and Greens to back faster approvals of new housing, critical minerals projects and renewable power stations.
But the Coalition and Greens teamed up to kick the timeline off to late March rather than the government’s preferred pre-Christmas sprint.
