The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a revised seat matrix for Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) admissions across medical colleges in India for the academic year 2025-26. According to the latest update, the total number of medical seats has been adjusted from 1,28,925 to 1,28,875, marking a reduction of 50 seats. The revision comes after the Commission added 11,350 new seats this year, including those in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER).
