The Ministry of Higher Education has launched a nationwide campaign to tackle drug abuse in academic institutions.

As part of this initiative, each college and university will designate an Anti-Drug Inspector from its faculty to oversee campus vigilance and promote a drug-free environment.

This move follows the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) newly issued guidelines to create drug-free campuses across India.

Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj shared that the inspectors will monitor and report any drug-related activities, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment. The initiative also includes a week-long awareness campaign across campuses, focusing on discussions, workshops, and student engagement.
