The Bowen Gallery at Valley Art Center at 155 Bell St. in Chagrin Falls will present the 54th annual Juried Art Exhibition, which opens on Nov. 7 with a public reception from 6 to 8 p.m.

The pieces on display were selected out of over 500 submissions, with 50 artists selected across various mediums like painting, sculpting, ceramics, fiber and photography. More than $3,500 in cash awards will be given to best in show, first, second and third place along with community-sponsored prizes.

The show will run through Dec. 17, with a special showcase on Dec. 12 titled, “Ekphrastacy: Artists Talk + Poets Respond,” where artists show off their work and poets share verses written in response.

The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is
