Lindsay Friedman, education director of Kol Israel Foundation in Pepper Pike, said as more years pass between the events of the Holocaust and present, preserving the memory of its victims and educating future generations becomes increasingly important.

That’s why the foundation is excited to hold its “Stand Up for Holocaust Education” event at 5 p.m. Nov. 2 at B’nai Jeshurun Congregation at 27501 Fairmount Blvd. in Pepper Pike. It will serve as the kickoff to the Kol Israel Foundation’s annual campaign and will also celebrate the 30th anniversary of Face to Face, its Holocaust education program.

Face to Face was founded by Gary Robuck, then-rabbi of Congregation Shaarey Tikvah in Beachwood, and Sharon Fagin in 1995. Kol Israel took over the program in 2019 and after it outgrew its space
