ORLANDO, Fla. – Attorney Dan Newlin on Thursday will send two personal jets into Jamaica to deliver relief items after the island country was struck by Melissa, a Category 5 hurricane .
According to a news release, donations include water, clothing, food and medicine.
On the way to Jamaica , Newlin will stop in Miami to pick up his friend and musician Shaggy, whose Make a Difference Foundation they will be working through.
Newlin said he has several flights planned back and forth to deliver aid.
Since its landfall in Jamaica and then Cuba, Melissa was moving quickly to the northeast at about 20 mph as it pulls away from the Bahamas and heads toward Bermuda. The storm’s center is expected to pass just northwest of the island Thursday night, and a Hurricane Warning remains in effe
