NISSWA — Should Nisswa let voters decide whether to impose a local option sales tax to fund Nisswa Park improvements?

Two council members fully support pursuing the tax, two are adamantly against it, and one indicated the tax is not needed right now.

The topic was debated at the regular city council meeting Tuesday, Oct. 21. No formal vote was taken.

Mayor Jennifer Carnahan told Parks and Recreation Director Amber Moon Peterson to continue gathering information to present at the Nov. 18 regular city council meeting.

An information session for businesses on proposed park improvements and the tax option will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the Nisswa Community Center. So the council will have that feedback for their November meeting.
