Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered an inquiry into an alleged ₹653-crore land TDR (Transferable Development Rights) scam connected to the Janata Vasahat slum rehabilitation project in Parvati, Pune.

The directive follows a request from Minister of State for Urban Development Madhuri Misal, who had sought an immediate stay on the controversial redevelopment proposal.

Acting on her request, the Chief Minister directed the Additional Chief Secretary of the Housing Department, Asim Kumar Gupta, to suspend the proposal and initiate a detailed investigation. The Urban Development Department’s review had already exposed large-scale irregularities in the TDR allocation process.
