LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- The city is looking ahead to a storm sewer outfall project that involves Nicholson Avenue and Wilbert Road.

“It’s next on our list for outfall rehab and repairs,” Lakewood Public Works Director Chris Gordon said. “An outfall storm sewer drains right out into Lake Erie .

“Nicholson outfall collects from Detroit Avenue, while Wilbert Road outfall collects from Clifton Boulevard. Both outfall projects are revetment work to assist with erosion control. Also, both outfalls are storm sewers that can become combined sewers at times.”

While both infrastructure projects have been on the city’s radar dating back to a 2017 inspection, Gordon stressed there isn’t any particular issue limiting capacity.
