A stall offering £1.99 'blood milkshakes', 'blood buckets', 'battered screamburgers' and 'super suffering boxes' popped up on New Street today (Thursday, October 30) as vendors began stocking their spots on the Frankfurt Christmas Market.
The stall was put in place by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) who decorated the stand with a message saying 'MEAT IS MURDER'.
A staff member 'offered' the food to passers-by at the entrance to Nandos on a strip of the busy road now referred to as the 'Chicken Quarter' because of the number of chicken restaurants there.
The row of shops caught the attention of PETA who set up a demonstration against it.
Police attended the scene to keep order but at the time of writing, the protest was peaceful.
