Dr Amir Khan has suggested that people take a 5p pill when battling a cold. He claims it can help shorten the duration of illness, and some research studies support this.

Speaking on his new podcast show, No Appointment Necessary, alongside co-host Cherry Healey, the NHS GP discussed a beneficial remedy as cold and flu season approaches its peak. Dr Khan is a renowned health expert who frequently appears on telly shows like ITV's Good Morning Britain , Lorraine, and This Morning , as well as BBC's Morning Live.

He also works as an NHS GP at a practice in Bradford.
