Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say they now believe Robbie Thomson, who has been missing for about two years in the Smiths Falls area southwest of Ottawa, was killed.

They have charged three people with first-degree murder.

Thomson was 34 when he was reported missing in October 2023. The investigation into his disappearance included air and dog searches and a recent $50,000 reward.

Him going missing, along with two other local men either disappearing or being found dead within about a year, left residents on edge.

Police have not linked the three cases.

On Thursday, OPP said they still have not found Thomson, but they believe he was killed and the search is now for his body.
