A West Lothian woman said a crucial support group "saved her life" as she grapples with a debilitating condition which took years to diagnose.

Kirstin Baille, 31, suffers from endometriosis (endo), a chronic disease that forced her into six surgeries and leaves her riddled with daily pain.

The Whitburn resident told Edinburgh Live: "I haven't had a pain-free day in at least seven years or more.

"I used to be scoring a seven out of 10 [of pain] daily. When I take my period, that goes to 10 out of 10. I'm passing out, vomiting, the blood is pouring out of my body.

"I've been dealing with symptoms since I was 12 years old and now I'm 31. That's more than half my life. It’s a lot to deal with and I wasn't formally diagnosed until 27."
