HOUSTON (KIAH) - A powerful piece of Houston’s firefighting history now has a permanent home. The Houston Fire Department’s Honor Guard uniform is officially on display inside the Houston Fire Museum, symbolizing nearly four decades of dedication, tradition, and sacrifice.
The guard formed in 1985, has stood as the department’s ceremonial backbone, planning, organizing, and performing at funeral and memorial services for fallen firefighters. The group also represents the department at parades, public events, and official ceremonies, maintaining the highest standards of respect and professionalism.
Houston Fire Department Chief, Thomas Muñoz gave praise to the guard and all that they have done in the past, currently and in the future. Muñoz became emotional when noting the time the guard
