It's nearly time for trick-or-treaters to get their costumes out and for homeowners to fill their candy bowls for a haunted adventure on Halloween, this Friday, Oct. 31.
While many schools across Michigan will have partial days or even full days off for the annual holiday, adult Michiganders are unlikely to have the day off because it's not a federal holiday.
Here's what to know this Halloween.
When is Halloween in 2025?
Halloween is Friday, Oct. 31, 2025.
Is Halloween a federal, state holiday?
No, Halloween is not a federal holiday in the U.S. nor a state holiday in Michigan, so state and federal offices (except for those shuttered because of the federal government shutdown) will be open as usual.
Michigan state recognized holidays coming up include:
Nov. 11
Nov. 27 and 2
