A man who attacked his wife before ramming into a police car has been jailed. Nicholas Hazell assaulted his victim before pulling her into a car in Trumpington Road, Cambridge , at around 9.10pm on September 5.
Officers were called about the assault and tried to stop the car, but Hazell ignored them and drove to King’s Parade where he was blocked by barriers. He rammed into the police car behind him and turned around on the pavement before making off.
He was eventually stopped and arrested. Officers found Hazell to be disqualified from driving and uninsured.
The 42-year-old, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to criminal damage, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, and driving with no insurance.
He was sentenced to 20 months in prison after appearing at Huntingdon Law
