Three people have been charged with murder in connection with the disappearance of Robbie Thomson, a Smiths Falls man who went missing in October 2023.

Thomson’s disappearance has been declared a homicide, even though his body has not been located, Ontario Provincial Police said in a release Thursday.

OPP identified the accused as:

Christopher Fenton, 48, of Montague Township

*

Erin Mackie, 40, of Montague Township, and

*

Joshua Belfiori, 34, of Kingston

They each face one count of first-degree murder.

“The accused remain in custody and are … to appear for bail hearings before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Thursday,” OPP said.

Search operations are continuing on Kelly Jordan Road, northeast of Smiths Falls.
