LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - On this day 38 years ago, Nebraska’s most famous model Ashley Graham was born.

The Lincoln native was born in 1987. She was discovered by an agent while walking in a mall at age 12.

Graham has helped changed the fashion industry’s beauty standards. She made history in 2016 by becoming the first so-called “curve model” to appear on the cover of a Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

She has been on the covers of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, and more. She walked this year in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
