A family is haunted by loss after one of their prized Halloween decorations, amongst others, was stolen overnight from their California home.
Halloween is a spooktacular affair for neighbors Nick Duckro and John Hermann.
“I’ve been doing this for 15 years, so it’s great,” Hermann said. “Halloween’s almost kind of my Christmas.”
“It’s a fun little thing to give back and also sort of to be, like, a big kid ourselves,” Duckro said.
This Halloween, Monroe Avenue in San Diego’s Talmadge neighborhood feels a little less spooky. Hermann says thieves swiped his wife’s prized, super-sized skeleton.
They say it cost them hundreds of dollars and is no longer available. Hermann noticed the theft before heading to work.
