EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Two people were arrested Sunday night after a traffic stop led to a drug seizure.

According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO), deputies conducted a traffic stop near 5510 S. Highway 85/87 around 10:30 p.m.

EPCSO said deputies contacted the people inside the vehicle and saw a piece of foil with burnt residue in plain sight.

Deputies removed the two people inside the vehicle and detained them. The driver was identified as Juan Gonzales-Gomez, 26, and the passenger, Keri Shay, 24.

After searching the vehicle, deputies reportedly found several baggies containing narcotics, a scale, empty baggies, a ledger and a large amount of cash.

Deputies also found a firearm in Shay’s waistband, as well as fentanyl pills and drug paraphernalia. Gonzales-Gome
