WASHINGTON — More than 6,000 Tesla Cybertrucks are under recall due to a loose off-road light bar that could fall off while driving.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued the recall on Monday, Oct 27, for 6,197 Cybertrucks manufactured between Nov. 13, 2023, and Nov. 5, 2024. The light bar accessory could pose a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash. The off-road light is an accessory mounted to the top of Cybertrucks to increase visibility.
According to the notice, the wrong glue was used to install the light bar accessory to the windshield. The recall number is SB-25-90-001.
"The service-installed optional off-road light bar accessory may have been inadvertently attached to the windshield using the incorrect surface primer," the recall notice said.
