Robert Palmer, owner of Jacksonville Armada FC, announced the sale of the professional soccer club to a Jacksonville-based business owner, marking a new chapter for the team.
Palmer, who acquired the Armada in July 2017, said owning the team was a lifelong dream made even more meaningful by his family’s deep ties to Jacksonville. He and his wife, Jill, who grew up in the area, once lived in Neptune Beach.
“Our main goal has always been to return the first team to the pro ranks,” Palmer said. The club aligned with Major League Soccer’s (MLS) lower-division structure and secured downtown real estate for a future stadium with city support.
