Bodycam footage released Monday shows St. Johns County deputies taking down a 17-year-old teenager, who was allegedly armed with a gun on Halloween night inside the Las Calinas community.

The incident began when dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting a large group of kids screaming, deputies said.

One caller warned that a child was carrying a handgun while trick-or-treating.

St. Johns County’s air unit said it used a Forward-Looking Infrared Camera (F.L.I.R.) to track a suspicious pickup truck leaving the area. The air unit helped ground patrol officers locate and stop the vehicle.

The driver and three passengers were ordered out, with the front passenger, dressed in an orange jail inmate costume, exiting last.
