A Jacksonville mother said her apartment complex is attempting to raise rent despite failing to address multiple issues in her unit at the Golden Shores of Jacksonville apartment complex.
“I feel like I’m stuck here, and I want better for my kids and this is what it is,” said Rhonda, who’s family has lived in the complex for almost two years.
Rhonda said there are several ongoing problems that have been ignored for months, like a large hole under the kitchen sink, through which light from an adjacent unit is visible, an exposed bathroom light switch sticking out from the wall, and damage where the ceiling meets the wall.
Rhonda said management has resolved some previous complaints, but the specific issues just listed have remained unaddressed for months.
