BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) - As the federal shutdown halts Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funding, North Dakota officials are urging residents to seek alternative help through state and community resources.

To help bridge the gap, the department is directing residents to a network of programs: • Food Assistance: Great Plains Food Bank and partner pantries statewide Mobile Food Pantry and Little Free Pantries for local access Faith-based food banks and soup kitchens Senior Nutrition Program for individuals 60+ Commodity Supplemental Food Program for older adults Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) for tribal households Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) through local pantries • Great Plains Food Bank and partner pantries statewide • Mobile Food
