Agartala, 30 th October 2025: Tension flared in Madanmohan Palli area under West Sabroom Gram Panchayat today when an eviction drive led by the sub-divisional administration faced strong resistance from local residents

The police and administrative officials, who had arrived at the site with a bulldozer to demolish several houses, were forced to retreat after locals blocked the road and obstructed the operation.

According to reports, the administration had gone to demolish the homes of ten families, following a court order related to a land dispute. During the drive, electricity connections to around ten houses were also reportedly disconnected.
