AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) - Maine Family Planning announced Thursday they will be ending primary care services on Friday due to the loss of Medicaid funding.
In a press release, Maine Family Planning says the end of primary care services at all 18 of their locations is due to the Trump administration revoking Medicaid funding in the Big Beautiful Bill passed earlier this year.
MFP says they will still provide family planning and reproductive health services, but those services may also be affected in the future without Medicaid funding.
They say half of their patients currently rely on Medicaid coverage, and they typically receive about $1.9 million in Medicaid reimbursements during the year.
