HAMPDEN, Maine (WABI) - A couple who played a role in many local family traditions is now celebrating a mountain of a milestone of their own.

The lives of Jim and Norma Corliss have been exceptionally full, and Thursday marks a special anniversary dating back to their beginnings.

Despite it being their 71st wedding anniversary, the couple says it feels like “just another day.” That might be attributed to the illustrious life they have built together over seven decades.

After Jim’s service in the Air Force and career as an air traffic controller, the Corlisses purchased land in Newburgh, which they opened as Piper Mountain Christmas Tree Farm in 1978.
