OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - First Alert 6 has learned new details on the man charged in a downtown Omaha shooting earlier this month.
A release Wednesday from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Omaha revealed the Oct. 4 shooting in Omaha happened just months after former President Joe Biden gave the man, 31-year-old Khyre Holbert, clemency.
Officials shared in the release that on the federal level, Holbert is now facing a charge of felon in possession of a firearm.
Officers booked Holbert after the shooting near 13th and Howard streets that injured a 28-year-old man.
In Douglas County, he is facing charges of first-degree assault, using a firearm to commit a felony, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
