HARRISONVILLE, Mo. (KCTV) - Harrisonville High School has come up short of the grand prize in this year’s T-Mobile nationwide Friday Night 5G Lights competition, but added some extra cash in the process.
Despite failing to bring home the $1 million grand prize, Harrisonville High was named the Team Magenta Fan Favorite and awarded an additional $25,000.
The fan favorite award was created to recognize one school that stood out during the competition for its creativity, community pride and spirit throughout the contest.
T-Mobile employees were responsible for selecting the winner of the fan favorite award.
Ultimately, Harrisonville High finished in 11th in the contest, with over 206,000 votes in the public voting round for a contest that featured more than 2,100 small-town high schools a
